More Spray Portraits
Below are a few midsize spray portraits. On canvas they are 48 x 72 inches, on paper,
38 x 50 inches. There are twelve of these on canvas and about ten on paper.
These paintings are a hell of lot smarter than they pretend to be. I'm reminded of a quote by the musician Sting. He said: "Give them what they want and then give them what they need."
You have to have some way of inviting a viewer into a painting, a way to call them over, steal away a couple seconds of their time so that they will stand in front of the blasted thing. Only then can they experience what you have to offer. Hopefully, at that point you have something to offer beyond attention grabbing flash.
